City Experiences during Philanthropy Forward '18

For conference attendees: Make lasting memories by getting out and having some fun in Columbus with your peers. Follow the registration links below to register for these opportunities separate from your Philanthropy Forward registration

Cooking Class

Date/Time: Tuesday, October 23, 6:30 - 8 pm
Cost: $45 per person
Location: Local Matters CareSource Community Kitchen, 633 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43215
Limit: 15 attendees

Join your philanthropy peers for a night of fun as you communally prepare and enjoy a seasonal dinner at Local Matters’ CareSource Community Kitchen.

Local Matters is a nonprofit committed to its mission “to create healthy communities through food education, access, and advocacy”. With major philanthropic support from CareSource, Local Matters added a community kitchen in 2016 to better serve its goals. Since then, it has offered hundreds of classes and private events on cooking, gardening, healthy eating and more.

The planned menu is as follows:

  • Quinoa Curry with Roasted Butternut Squash, Chickpeas and Spinach
  • Wellness Matters Signature Salad with Homemade Vinaigrette Dressing
  • Warm Berries and Dumplings

* The entrée and salad are vegan-friendly with a modified dessert selection possible

Limited beer and wine selections will be provided on-site.

Transportation to/from City Experience venues is not included, but Philanthropy Ohio staff will arrange for groups to travel together as desired.


Brewery Tour & Tasting

Date/Time: Tuesday, October 23, 7 - 9 pm
Cost: $25 per person
Location: Wolf’s Ridge Brewing Company – Hickory Room, 215 North 4th Street, Columbus, OH 43215
Limit: 30 attendees

Grab a bite to eat on your own before you head to Wolf’s Ridge Brewing Company, one of Columbus’ most highly-acclaimed local breweries, for a private beer tasting and brewery tour.
Dinner is not included.

Kick back in Wolf’s Ridge Brewery’s new event space, the Hickory Room and enjoy a guided tasting of five locally brewed beer selections before you tour the brewery itself. Then move to the taproom with your colleagues to enjoy a complimentary pint of your favorite brew.

Wolf’s Ridge Brewery is consistently rated one of the best breweries in Columbus amidst a booming craft beer industry. Check out this impressive list of awards and accolades. Don’t miss the chance to get an inside look!
