What will the November elections mean for education policy in Ohio? Key General Assembly leaders and policy directors for both gubernatorial candidates will set the stage and look ahead at the remainder of 2018 and into next year during the October 22 Philanthropy Ohio Education Initiative meeting. After presentations and a working lunch, the coalition will turn its attention to a discussion of what it means for the Education Initiative, with a focus on planning for 2019.

Jessica Borza and Sara Tracey, who lead the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association workforce services team, will describe regional, industry-driven workforce solutions; provide examples from emerging and established manufacturing sector partnerships across the state; and define the roles philanthropy can play in the different phases of sector partnership implementation.

UPSTART’s disruptive innovation approach offers new dimensions of affordability, choice and accessibility for developing school readiness and empowers parents to engage in their children’s education. This program began in Utah and is actively expanding to pilots to Ohio and other states.
