As a registered 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and further designated as a 509(a)(3) public charity, we partner with community stakeholders, donors and charitable organizations to meet our mission. To date, Barberton Community Foundation has awarded over 8,500 grants and scholarships totaling more than $109 million.

Job Description

The Barberton Community Foundation is seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director. The new leader will assist the foundation in achieving its vision, mission, goals and strategies. The salary and benefits will be competitive with similar positions in the area.

Qualifications

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and supervises the professional staff. The Executive Director provides professional leadership and assistance to the Board of Directors in all matters related to the Foundation; directs the overall fundraising and development activity; oversees the grant making, communications and administrative activities of the Foundation; and is the face of the Foundation in the community. The Foundation seeks a proven leader with a demonstrated history of successful community involvement and a background of service to nonprofits. Knowledge of the Barberton community is a plus. The Foundation will consider candidates who have had a variety of successful leadership roles, whether with a nonprofit organization, government, civic organization, or a for-profit business. First-hand experience developing/maintaining donor relationships, supporting economic development, and collaborating with City stakeholders is highly preferred. Established in 1996, Barberton Community Foundation has awarded over 8,500 grants and scholarships totaling more than $109 million since its inception. The Foundation strives to improve the quality of life for Barberton residents by providing leadership on vital issues, fostering collaboration, and creating a legacy of giving to do good. The Foundation strengthens the community for current and future generations by proactively directing its grant dollars to the community’s greatest needs. A bachelor’s degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
