Job Summary:

The Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing all grants for the Urban League from start to finish. Reporting to the COO, this role will identify grant funding opportunities and coordinate submissions.

About the Urban League:

The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (ULGSO) transform generations by promoting personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. We have served the African-American community and other underserved segments since the 1940s. ULGSO provides programming in workforce development, business development & entrepreneurship, youth education, and leadership training to Ohio's Southwestern region, including metro Cincinnati and Dayton areas.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a project manager for all activities related to securing grant funding for the Urban League
  • Work with key stakeholders within the Urban League to accurately determine funding needs and goals
  • Identify and research all potential grant opportunities from corporations, foundations and government agencies to increase funding
  • Work with other departments to solicit the necessary input and information to successfully secure grants
  • Oversee all grant submissions, ensuring grant submission timelines are consistently met
  • Work with the content writer to ensure that each submission writing content meets funder requirements
  • Working with the Finance team, process and manage incoming grant funds
  • Track grant applications, providing support documentation and other necessary information following submission
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of grant auditing policies to guarantee compliance
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with grant agencies to amplify funding consideration for the Organization
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in managing grant programs, (non-profit preferred)
  • Excellent written communication skills with keen attention to grammar and sentence structure
  • Ability to meet strict timelines and deadlines
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting & accounting
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly computer literate with strong capability in email, MS Office Suite, and other related business and communication tools

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

This position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the Urban League of Greater SW Ohio (ULGSO). There may be select local and regional travel. Evening and weekend work may be required.
