President Reagan declared November 15 National Philanthropy Day back in 1986 and the tradition of celebrating philanthropy has grown worldwide and here in Ohio. It’s a day that recognizes all who volunteer their time, treasure and talent to make a difference in communities, through large gestures and small but all coming from a generosity of spirit and concern for their neighbors next door and around the world.
In Cincinnati last month for Philanthropy Forward ’19, we were thrilled to announce and applaud the 2019 Philanthropy Award winners. This year, we played videos that captured the winners’ accomplishments as well as statements from the nominators.
The news last week of Steve Minter’s passing came as we get ready to celebrate Philanthropy Ohio’s 35th anniversary at this year’s annual meeting on Thursday – a celebration made possible in large part due to the vision Steve Minter had and made a reality. We are deeply saddened by his passing and extend our condolences to his family.
