The Muskingum County Community Foundation announced spring grant competition winners with $65,467 going to 16 local organizations. 

The Columbus Foundation is helping to support a six-month program that gives students, recent graduates and professionals the chance to serve as apprentices at local businesses in the area. 

Battelle, a nonprofit science and technology company, has donated to create a series of extracurricular learning programs that encourage science, technology, engineering and math skills for students.

The Shelby Foundation Board of Directors approved $53,000 in grants to 11 nonprofit organizations at last month’s April board meeting.

Susie Bibler accepted a position as the development director of the Delaware County Foundation.

Compassion Furniture Bank’s Bed Project received a $6,500 grant from the Pickaway Community Foundation

Some of the biggest donors to the "Rooted in You" campaign include the Nationwide Foundation, the AEP Foundation and The Osteopathic Heritage Foundations.  

Ashtabula Foundation's associate director Kelley Katon said, "We have grant categories grouped together and each is open at different times within the calendar year." 

Collaboration has been the key to producing projects in the Akron area, including the Elevate Greater Akron economic development effort, formed jointly by the city, the county, the chamber and the GAR Foundation.

The Ohio Valley Youth Network, Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center and Cambridge Main Street received grants from the Dale Hileman Legacy Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio.  

The Binkley Pavilion project, which includes an asphalt drive, a 26-foot circular pavilion, gazebo, parking lot, signage and steel tables, was made possible by the Community Foundation of Shelby County.

The Cleveland Foundation helped the Cleveland Museum of Art's performing arts series with a project to commission and create new compositions, which resulted in the Creative Fusion: Composers Series, featuring a group of international composers.

Funding for the expansion of decorations for the Three Rivers Bridge is coming from the Edwin F. Mulligan Endowment Fund of the Coshocton Foundation.

The Chardon High School eighth-grade Arthur Holden Leadership Institute program is made possible by the generosity of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation and Lake County YMCA.

The Wean Foundation has provided Racial Equity and Inclusion workshops to the Mahoning Valley since 2017, and to date, 669 community stakeholders representing 222 diverse organizations have participated. 

In 2021, the Alliance Historical Society received a $1,615 grant from the Ohio Humanities Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan Act that aided in the creation of the self-guided tour of the Alliance City Cemetery using the Clio app.

In an effort to attract and retain talent in Muskingum County, the Straker Foundation and the Muskingum County Community Foundation teamed up to start the Make Muskingum Home program.

Jessica Grisez is the new executive director of the Upper Arlington Community Foundation and hopes to give back to the community and help others establish legacies.
