Tuesday, August 20, 2019

We are delighted to announce that the Board of Trustees has unanimously chosen Deborah Aubert Thomas as Philanthropy Ohio’s next president & CEO, beginning August 15.

In announcing the appointment, Connie Hawk, chair of the Board of Trustees, said “Deborah has superbly served Philanthropy Ohio as its vice president for programs and learning since 2014, providing exceptional vision and oversight for the organization’s educational programs and diversity, equity and inclusion work. We warmly welcome Deborah to this new role and wish her every success.”

Deborah’s 28 years of experience in the philanthropic sector includes working at a community foundation and serving on the board of The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio. As vice president for programs and learning, she has: developed and managed workplans and budgets for the organization’s 80+ programs a year, including the annual conference; created signature programs such as Authentic Leadership in Philanthropy; and staffed the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee that has increased Philanthropy Ohio’s racial equity focus and engagement of members.

“I am pleased and excited to take on the leadership role at Philanthropy Ohio and thank the Board for selecting me. I look forward to working with the board and staff as we chart the next chapter for how we move toward our vision of a just and equitable Ohio through impactful philanthropy,” Deborah said after her selection.

Please join us in extending your congratulations to Deborah!
