In 2005, Philanthropy Ohio formed an Education Advisory Committee to consider how philanthropy might better understand and address education reform in Ohio as education funding has become a priority for Ohio grantmakers. Today, with education investments totaling more than $300 million annually, philanthropy is working with partners to ensure all Ohioans have access to high-quality education opportunities, from the state’s youngest and most vulnerable residents to those pursuing education beyond high school. The Philanthropy Ohio Health Initiative focuses on improving the health of Ohioans through policy reform and more effective philanthropic investments and collaborations. Ohio, with the second largest number of health-focused foundations in the country, has philanthropic leaders with deep experience and commitment to improving the health of residents and working with government to do so.
