Why and how public health should promote civic and voter participation in order to advance health equity.
As the leading voice to policymakers on behalf of Ohio philanthropy, we work with funder members to bring the ideas and insights of the philanthropic sector to the table. Philanthropy Ohio is a recognized national leader in advocacy efforts. Our public policy work is essential to supporting our community of philanthropy and to strengthening our sector, not only in Ohio but across the country.
This is a sample request for proposals from the Community Foundation of Grant County, Indiana, which is seeking proposals from investment consultants to provide consulting services to the foundation’s Finance Committee. Services would include investment policy amendments and revisions, strategic and tactical investment advice, manager searches and selections, quarterly performance measurement and analysis, monitoring for compliance with investment policy, comparison to peers and educational workshops.
The spring Philanthropy Review edition features the latest analysis of foundation giving in Ohio; interviews with several members who attended Foundations on the Hill in Washington, D.C.; an update on the evolution of Philanthropy Ohio's public policy work (we've saved you a seat!); and more!
The summer Philanthropy Review edition features insight into how three members put trust-based philanthropy into practice; the seven expert consultants who are part of the Consultancy Collective; an update on the Ohio Legislature's latest actions; the three new staff members joining Philanthropy Ohio and more!
The July Health Initiative meeting featured updates on the Ohio Regional Convergence Partnership funder collaborative, the OhioRise program for children and youth, the legislature's Public Benefits Accountability Task Force and the COVID-19 benefits cliff. Hear the latest findings in the Health Policy Institute of Ohio’s (HPIO) report on death trends.
Connect with fellow Ohio funders about the challenges and possibilities and identify opportunities to collaborate. Get the mentoring and training you need and be reassured you’re doing things in the best way possible. You have the ability to become the funder you envision and seek to be.
Leading and supporting philanthropic work to center racial equity, we bring training, tools, inspiration and conversations to our members, holding space for peer sharing and cohort learning and expanding to include other marginalized identities and issues.
Elevate your work, grow in your career, exercise your leadership and demonstrate your expertise among your peers. When you join a committee, connect with a peer group or participate in a policy initiative, not only are you giving back to the sector, but you’re also gaining valuable skills and relationships.
