What’s the best part of your job?
I have the pleasure of working with a dedicated and energetic staff who in turn provide the network, knowledge and tools to our members so that they can become more effective change agents in their communities. Plus, I get to see all the great work our members are doing to make Ohio and the region stronger.
When did you start work at Philanthropy Ohio?
It’s fairly eclectic. I have degrees in English education, marketing, human resource development and strategic planning. And my work life spans from chicken farming, retail associate and buyer, to teaching at the high school and collegiate levels, to development and donor services and now leading Philanthropy Ohio. When you put the education and experience together, I think it’s made me more thoughtful and certainly more dedicated to improving the lives of others.
What do you love about where you live?
I live in Northeast Ohio and the diversity (in all aspects) is fabulous. The people, the weather, the food and the entertainment are all part of the reason I call this region home. After 25 years as an Ohioan, I’m still not crazy about the snow, though.
Favorite brand or flavor of ice cream?
This is a hard question to answer. Some days it’s Strickland’s Chocolate and other days it’s Talleti’s Sea Salt Caramel.
What do you do outside of work?
I have two new grandsons who are delightful. I also enjoy gardening, reading, biking and having adventures with my two-legged and four-legged family members.
