Though Philanthropy Ohio gives out the Philanthropy Awards every year, 2020 was a year unlike any other. Funders truly stepped up to help their communities; pivoted, innovated and collaborated with others and embedded diversity, equity and inclusion in their work like never before. This year, we want to celebrate those funders and elevate their stories of impact.
The four philanthropy awards celebrate outstanding Ohio philanthropists who have made significant contributions to philanthropy. Congratulations to the 2020 award winners: Adrienne Mundorf, Dan Keenan, The Raymond John Wean Foundation and Sam Barone.
The news last week of Steve Minter’s passing came as we get ready to celebrate Philanthropy Ohio’s 35th anniversary at this year’s annual meeting on Thursday – a celebration made possible in large part due to the vision Steve Minter had and made a reality. We are deeply saddened by his passing and extend our condolences to his family.
With tax filing day here – for both individuals today and then in May for many foundations – my thoughts are turning to discerning the latest charitable giving trends here in Ohio.
