Helping members build their professional networks is a key part of what we did at Philanthropy Ohio in 2016, providing vibrant connections across the state and locally. One way we accomplished this was through offering members access to five different electronic listservs that connect individuals working in different types of organizations. Last year, 233 people posed questions or gave advice through these listservs (up 15% from 2015), tapping into the wisdom and advice of their colleagues in like organizations. We also connected to members and the public through an increased presence on social media sites, with 975 Facebook likes (up 16%), 2,864 blog reads (up 14%) and 2,016 Twitter followers (up 40%). And, every event built time for networking into its agenda, making sure that members grew their professional networks.
