Reflecting on the Supreme Court’s affirmative action ruling

Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are vital components of a just society, and affirmative action measures are necessary to address the systemic barriers that have historically disadvantaged marginalized groups. I encourage all our members to engage in constructive dialogue, educate others about the importance of affirmative action and advocate for policies that promote equity and inclusivity.

Today, Tuesday, January 18, is the National Day of Racial Healing. Launched in 2017 by the W.K Kellogg Foundation, the annual observance is meant to be a time to contemplate our shared values and create the blueprint together for #HowWeHeal from the effects of racism.

Virtual roundtable discussions connect funders to Ohio’s Congressional Delegation

Philanthropy has an important role to play in supporting communities, and hosting virtual roundtables is one way we help connect funders to elected officials through advocacy work. This spring, given the virtual spaces through Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other platforms, we decided to do things a little differently to give more opportunities to our members who may not ordinarily be able to travel to Washington, D.C. to connect with their local congressional members and share their stories.
