The United Way of Jefferson County has received a $10K donation from the AEP Ohio Foundation.
 
The Belmont County Juvenile Court was able to provide backpacks filled with health and hygiene items thanks to a $7K grant from the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley.
 
The Ohio Arts Council awarded a grant to the nonprofit Access the Arts to provide a free concert in Medina featuring the band Swizzle Stick on Aug. 22.
 
The Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation granted funding to the Radio on the Lake Theatre to bring its Audio Gallery Series to the Cleveland community.
 
Feel Good Fridays, Van Wert’s free community summer concerts, have become a cornerstone of summer entertainment thanks to the Van Wert County Foundation.
 
MetroParks in Dayton had significant investments made to the park with the community’s support and from philanthropic funders such as the Land and Water Conservation Fund, the City of Dayton Community and Development Block Grant, the Five Rivers MetroParks Foundation, the Berry Family Foundation, the Mathile Family Foundation, Jamie and Agata Schade, the CenterPoint Energy Foundation and the Louise Kramer Foundation

Dayton Metro Library launched its upgraded Bookmobile with funding support provided by area foundations and organizations, including the Dayton Foundation, the Kettering Fund, Mathile Family Foundation, Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage, Charles D. Berry Foundation, CenterPoint Energy Foundation, the Disability Foundation, Preschool Promise, Iddings Foundation and Physician’s Charitable Foundation.
 
The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees approved $1.8M in grants during its August meeting. 

Other Member News

The Community Foundation of Mahoning Valley partnered with the City of Warren to combine the city’s federal funding through the American Rescue Plan Act with the foundation’s expertise in grantmaking and has invested $600K into organizations supporting city residents.  
 
The Eric D. Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the Springfield Foundation, awarded its first grant recipient in the amount of $2.5K. 
 
Public Health Fund of Ohio, a supporting organization to the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, is offering grants of up to $25K per year over two years to support efforts that encourage healthier eating and more active lifestyles in rural and Appalachian counties in Ohio.
