The September meeting reviewed and reflected on Philanthropy Ohio's policy engagement and partnerships since the Education Initiative began in 2005. Attendees of this working session provided input as we refresh and refocus our education policy agenda for the next biennium. Today is the National Day for Racial Healing, the annual observance created by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in 2017 and observed every year on the Tuesday following Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It was the consensus of the Philanthropy Ohio Board to oppose the passage of Issue 1. Of equal importance was the consensus of the Board that the members of Philanthropy Ohio be given the appropriate tools and information so that they and their community partners can make an informed decision on August 8.
