This webinar recording shares the Ohio General Assembly’s lame duck session priorities and what it means for Philanthropy Ohio’s legislative agenda, funder’s work and local communities. Byers, Minton & Associates provided an update on Ohio’s post-election policy landscape; legislation in Philanthropy Ohio’s priority areas of health, housing and education; and previewed expectations for the next biennium.
It was the consensus of the Philanthropy Ohio Board to oppose the passage of Issue 1. Of equal importance was the consensus of the Board that the members of Philanthropy Ohio be given the appropriate tools and information so that they and their community partners can make an informed decision on August 8.
At the August Education Initiative meeting, the State Board of Education President and the Interim State Superintendent shared the state’s priorities and strategies to address academic recovery and promote student success.
