For philanthropy to have a tremendous impact in addressing the tragic substance use disorder crisis, new approaches to public policy and government partner engagement must be coordinated.
The Ohio Department of Health has reached out to Philanthropy Ohio to both gather information and inform you of needs they are hearing. In particular, we want to gather information on whether your organization – whether through a specific COVID-19 crisis fund or collaboration or through other organizational funds – is providing support directly to individuals.
View and download resources from the April Health Initiative Meeting, which provided an overview of the state’s budget as it relates to investments in health as well as other bills and how these measures can impact your grantmaking. We heard from staff at the Center for Community Solutions and Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio about their key policy priorities related to public health and human services eligibility. Staff from the Health Policy Institute of Ohio highlighted key findings from the soon-to-be-released 2021 Health Value Dashboard before peers shared their collaborative work with mass site vaccinations and innovative work to advance maternal and youth health and wellness.
