With National Philanthropy day coming up next week, I’m excited to recognize a number of individuals and organizations receiving awards – including our own annual awards that we presented recently – for the contributions they make every day to improve communities and lives in Ohio.

Most in Ohio’s philanthropic community would reply, “No.” Based on data and policy analysis, Philanthropy Ohio believes the state has lost ground in four major education areas over the last six years.
Action Recommendations for the Strickland Administration, 128th Ohio General Assembly and State Board of Education. A bold plan for accelerating the pace of innovation—for restructuring the traditional, industrial model of teaching and learning and for addressing the lowest-performing schools in our state—is needed to keep pace with the demands of the 21st century.
