The Ashtabula Foundation awarded over $120K in grants to several local organizations in the areas of arts, culture, historical education and community development at its Cycle 2 Grant Award Presentation on July 15.
 
The Youngstown Foundation donated $5M to the renovation campaign for The Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.
 
The Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley announced that 137 area students will be able to take advantage of $276K in scholarship money from more than 60 scholarships administered by the foundation.
 
St. Mary’s Parish received a $1K donation from Defiance Moose Lodge 2094, a donor-advised fund under the Defiance Area Foundation, for its YES Project youth program.
 
The Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Fund, Fifth Third Bank and N.A. Trustee awarded a $2M three-year STEM education grant to five all-girls Catholic high schools in Cincinnati.
 
Pedal Smart worked with Sarah Lowry of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley to develop a website that contains information valuable to cyclists in the city, one of several proposals presented at the Civic Innovation Transforming Youngstown internship program that partners with Youngstown State University students.
 
Cara Dingus Brook, president and CEO of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, has regularly witnessed the value older adults bring to Appalachia, noting that they are the ones who most understand the community and are putting in the labor and love to keep community infrastructure strong.


The Ohio Arts Council approved grants for several Lima organizations for the 2026 fiscal year, offering more for a total of $23.3M throughout the state of Ohio.
 
The Marietta Community Foundation announced awards of over $26K to 16 organizations through its second quarter Simple Solution Grants initiative.

Mercy Health Foundation gifted $50K to the Maumee City Schools district to assist in the purchase of two Anatomage virtual dissection tables for the high school's new science lab.

The Cardinal Health Foundation, in partnership with the Charitable Healthcare Network and St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy, will expand its Equity Rx pilot program to get medications to those who can't afford them and create Ohio's first statewide drug repository.
