The Community Foundation of Lorain County raised over $459K for more than 100 nonprofits at their Connect to a Cause event on Sept. 18.

The bi3 Fund donated $500K to the Booker T. Washington Community Center to launch a maternal wellness center to help and support the well-being of new and expectant mothers.

The Monroe County Community Foundation, in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, awarded nearly $45K to 14 Monroe County projects and programs.

The Greater Toledo Community Foundation awarded a $25K grant to the Wood County Park District and the Wood County Port Authority to begin Phase 1 of expanding the Chessie Circle Trail. 

The Clinton County Legacy Fund, managed by the Clinton County Foundation, awarded nearly $300K in grants to 11 Clinton County nonprofits for projects aimed at improving safety, health and quality of life.

Licking Heights High School has opened a Hygiene Hub, a resource stocked with free hygiene products available to any student, thanks to a partnership with United Way of Licking County.

Saint Luke’s Foundation announced plans to build a new 21,000-square-foot headquarters at 10804 Woodland Ave.

The Lima Community Foundation celebrated 60 years of philanthropy and announced it will award $60K in grants, divided among three community priorities: the arts, youth programming and a direct $20K contribution to the Lima Community Aquatic Park.

The Women’s Board of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley sponsored the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which came from a partnership between Akron Children’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities to serve underserved areas of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is in the midst of its fall scholarship and award cycle, open to current and future college or trade school students.

The Infant Vitality Community Block Party, an annual event, took place on Saturday, Sept. 27, in a Youngstown park, with support from the Raymond John Wean Foundation, Mercy Health Foundation, Mercy Health Community Health and many others.

The Troy Foundation funded an archaeological restoration project at the Overfield Tavern Museum.

Clothes for Kids received a $1,000 grant from the Keith Hubbard Family Fund, a charitable fund with the Defiance Area Foundation, to provide new clothing, shoes and essential items to local students in need.

United Way of North Central Ohio moved its Marion office to a permanent location at 198 E. Center St. in downtown Marion.

Community West Foundation announced more than $1.15M in grant distributions to nonprofit organizations serving Cleveland, Western Cuyahoga and Lorain counties.

The Cuyahoga Community College Foundation received a $1M donation from the Medical Mutual Charitable Gift Fund to launch a program to help students stay enrolled despite unexpected financial hardships. 

The J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation awarded $200K to 20 area organizations that serve to improve the lives of Muskingum County residents.

The trustees of the Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation approved grants and scholarships totaling $197K to programs that promote the physical and mental well-being of Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne County residents and students in health-related studies.

The Raymond John Wean Foundation's board of directors approved $655K of grants to two organizations supporting educational and economic opportunity. 

The Distribution Committee of the Coshocton Foundation awarded five total grants and one partial grant totaling over $22K to several community organizations in September. 

The Women’s Giving Circle of the Marietta Community Foundation awarded $14K in grants to three nonprofits serving women and children across Washington County at their Fall 2025 meeting. 

The Erie County Community Foundation marked its 30th anniversary and announced several 30th Anniversary Challenge Funds, closing the night with awarding $30K in community grants.
