Most recently, Meghan served as senior vice president for strategy, impact and operations at a national philanthropy-serving organization, CFLeads, activating community foundations to speed the pace of change on critical community issues. Prior to her role at CFLeads, Meghan held leadership roles at Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) for over a decade. At GCF, she led the foundation’s community leadership initiatives, including policy advocacy and driving large-scale initiatives across sectors. She also served as executive director of the foundation’s Women’s Fund for seven years.

An Ohio native from Cincinnati, she has held fundraising and corporate giving positions with Onesight, EssilorLuxottica's Corporate Foundation, the Center for Addiction Treatment and the Alzheimer’s Association. Meghan has won numerous awards and has a strong background in volunteer leadership, currently serving on Philanthropy Ohio’s Board of Trustees as Board Vice Chair and Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee. Meghan earned a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English/Journalism from Miami University.

"Ohio is brimming with opportunity—a place where bold ideas and collaborative action can shape a vibrant future for every community,” said Meghan Cummings. “I am deeply honored to join Philanthropy Ohio as CEO and to partner with our members in advancing the power of philanthropy. The road ahead is full of promise. I look forward to building on the organization’s strong 40-year history and sparking meaningful action in its next chapter.”

I'd also like to sincerely thank Claudia Y.W. Herrold for serving as Philanthropy Ohio's interim president & CEO. Her last day will be Friday, June 20. Claudia has provided exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication during her tenure, and the Board and I are deeply grateful for her expertise, vision and integrity in guiding our network during this transitional period.

Please join me in warmly welcoming Meghan Cummings to her new role as Philanthropy Ohio President & CEO. We are excited about the leadership and expertise she brings to our organization and look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen Ohio’s philanthropic sector.
