The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley announced it is expanding its Emergency Grant program to help local nonprofit organizations grapple with recent federal funding decreases.
 
The Dale Hileman Legacy Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio awarded three grants, totaling more than $2.5K, to support projects advancing economic development and growth in eastern Ohio.
 
The Defiance County Sheriff’s Office recently received a $1K grant from the Hanna Family Fund under the Defiance Area Foundation umbrella to support purchasing underwater communication equipment to improve safety during dive operations in local and surrounding water.
 
The Yellow Springs Community Foundation granted funds for a new outing van to Roads to Recovery, an autism resource center nonprofit making avenues to support and resources for those with autism more accessible.
 
Funding for a renovation project of a building in downtown Coshocton designed to foster small business and economic development came from the Coshocton Foundation and the Coshocton County Commissioners.
 
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley administers the Ohio Valley Jaycees Charitable Fund, which accepts applications until May 23 for grants up to $10K.
 
The African American Community Fund at the Dayton Foundation received over $550K from the estate of Ellenae Fairhurst, a late Dayton native who made a name for herself in the retail automotive industry.

The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation awarded a $700 HancockREADS grant to Van Buren Local School District’s Spanish Teacher, Alyssa Leddy.
 
During the Richland County Foundation's annual meeting on May 9, president and CEO Allie Watson reported that it granted $8.7M in 2024.
 
CenterPoint Energy Foundation gave a grant to the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education to support work-based learning for all, increasing access to education for all Ohio residents.
 
The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation gave a $250K grant alongside contributions from the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities to the Ohio State Parks Foundation to bring an inclusive playground at Delaware State Park to life.
