Philanthropy Ohio is pleased to announce that nine nonprofit organizations have been awarded grants totaling $40,000 through the Ohio Regional Convergence Partnership (ORCP) Fund. This pooled fund, managed by Philanthropy Ohio, is designed to provide professional development resources for Ohio nonprofit organizations seeking to enhance their skills, knowledge and capacity in health access and equity public policy work. Established in 2011, the ORCP has successfully leveraged collective resources from foundations across the state of Ohio to support equitable change in health access and policy, with a particular focus on collaborating to strengthen understanding of and advocacy for issues of health access and equity throughout Ohio.

During this highly competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process, we received a total of $182,614 in funding requests from 40 applicants and were able to support only about 20% of them. We are incredibly grateful to the HealthPath Foundation of Ohio for their involvement in the RFP process and to our member volunteers from eight organizations, who collaborated with Philanthropy Ohio to review applications. We hope these grants will contribute to better health outcomes in Ohio communities by enabling nonprofit leaders to develop their skills, knowledge and capacity in public policy work in health access and equity.
